Claim Map and Location Notice
The Eyese Top Mine (on the Klamath River) is located about 30.5 miles downriver from Happy Camp. The upriver boundary is located near the Highway 96 mile marker 10:88. The downriver boundary is located about half-mile down river from the upper boundary, near mile marker 10:60 (see map).
This is really nice claim! Originally, it was part of the Klamath Mineral Reserve property. But based upon the input from interested people, Klamath Mineral Reserve was broken down into multiple, smaller (less expensive) properties. This breakdown can be seen on the overview map. This claim adjoins the downstream boundary of Klamath Mineral Reserves, and the upriver boundary of the Eyese Top Mine.
Eyese Creek enters the river on this claim at around mile marker10:72. There is good RV camping in a road-side pull-off alongside Highway 96, just downriver from Eyese Creek.
An old foot trail heading down towards the river is visible across the road from Eyese Creek. There are other visible ways to gain access to Eyese Bar from road-side pull-offs along Highway 96.
Eyese Bar (down alongside the river) is another high-bankers’ paradise! There are visible stream-bends and rapids, which provide the type of diversity that usually produces rich high-grade gold deposits for suction dredgers and surface miners. Old hydraulic tailing cuts are visible just up the mountainside, proving that the Old-timers did well in the immediate area.
PROSPECTS: This mining property is located in a historically-rich section of the Klamath River. There were bench operations and hydraulic mines all along the river in the local area. Evidence of old bench work, including tail races and tailings piles, can be seen around the immediate area.
There is exposed bedrock to be found along with in-place bench material that is being washed into the natural riffles within the river. This claim has lots of potential for high-banking, deep & shallow dredging, sluicing and metal detecting.
For anyone looking to extend the length of this claim, the adjoining claims located just up and down river (“Klamath Mineral Reserve,” “Eyese Bar” & “Lost Gold Bar”) are also being sold in this auction. Please see overview map. This gold mining claim sold.
